Learning the truth

Crashed.

A man walked in my dreams, I was wearing my nightgown. I lay in

my bedroom, dreaming. The man softly walked into my bedroom,

wearing a quiet of ring. It was labeled with “THT.” He quickly

touched my hands. I quickly heard a noise appearing in my sound,

“Ding, Dong, and buzzing. The clock was buzzing. I quickly

screamed as I woke up as my little sister called me, “Sophie!” I

said, “Sophia not Sophie.”  I looked at her, she was smiling at

me. She said, “Happy birthday to you! Today you will turn

twelve!” “Thanks, Molly.” I said. “A bad bad bad dream again?”

asked Molly. “Yes, Molly I got that dream since I moved here last

year.” I said.
Molly smiled like she is some freaky girl.  I looked at her

again, what a nice sister that I just had last year. I was

adopted by my step- mother, Victoria. Because my parents wanted a

boy, not a girl. I think them is a girl racist. But what about my

real mother, she is girl.
“My mama made a special breakfast.  It is your favorite,

chocolate chip pancaked.” Said Molly. “Pancake.” I corrected

Molly.  As I rolled my eyes. Molly always has trouble correcting

grammar. “Sorry.” Molly said. Molly handed my clothes. I looked

it, it is soft ugly. “My mama wants you to use those clothes for

your super special party.” Molly said. “A party?” I said. Molly

said, “Opps, I accidently tell you the surprise.” Molly ran from

my bedroom and went her bedroom. I rolled my eyes again. “A

party!” I said angrily. I threw the clothes in the garbage can

behind at my bedroom. I hated parties.
I grabbed a skirt from my closet and put it on my legs. And I

spotted a shirt hanged below my closet; I never saw that shirt

before. Must be Danielle’s. I grabbed the shirt and put it on.

Danielle was Molly’s oldest sister; she died from a bus crash

last year when I moved here. Anyway, I hoped she will live in a

peace place upon the sky.
I sat my makeup room; I watched my face in the mirror. I put

some Peach lipstick, and a barrette. I smacked my lips, as I put

my socks on. I always hated socks,   because they are too hot for

me due to summer time. My step- mother ordered me to use socks

for all seasons even summer.  I begin to use my expensive

sneakers. It was colored of water, a type kind of beautiful light

blue. Laced with beautiful ribbons, colored of sea, and a type

kind of dark blue.
I went in my bathroom, it was kind small, but anyway I was happy

to have an own bathroom.  I brushed my teeth, as I put a deorant

into my armpits. My skin smelled of the strawberries and the red

roses. I cleaned my ear with a special wax machine. I went

downstairs, when I smelled of chocolate. I read the picture in my

head that I feel like I wanted to ride a giant chocolate chip

pancake flying to Vegas and I said, hooray in the breezing air.

Ha! It won’t even happen anyway. I sighed. I sat in my special

chair. I looked two chocolate pancakes sitting below the plate.

“What’s wrong?” My step- mother said. “This is a two boring

pancakes. I feel that I should add more creating.” I said. “Well,

go ahead. It is your birthday, so adds some strawberries or

whipped cream to help to make your pancakes so special.” My step-

mother said. “Ok, I will add some strawberries and some whipped

cream.” I said. Then I grabbed the bowl of full juicy

strawberries. I grabbed two strawberries. I put one in my pancake

and other pancake. Then I grabbed bowl of whipped cream behind

me. I pour some in my pancake. And I stir it.  Then I ate it.

Molly was quiet. She ate her cereal. And left. I looked her

leaving. I looked the house, we were rich. Then I heard a noise,

it was my mother drinking coffee. I looked her, she was slurping

over again and over again. “So, what are you doing for the work?”

I said very patiently, hoping that she will respond. “Ah, I am

off work today, because of your birthday.” My mother said. I

smiled. “So you are planning a party for me?” I asked. My

mother’s eyes were widened.
“How did you know?” My mother asked very curious. “Um, please

don’t blame to Molly, she accidently told me.” I said. “Molly.”

My mother growled. “Well, do you want to do the party or not.”

My mother asked, drinking her coffee. “I want do it.” I said.

“Very well.” Said my mother. She looked my door, and said. “Bus.”

I looked the window. I sighed. I grabbed my backpack and see my

little sister walking the bus. I ran to chase her. “Don’t go

alone, you are young.” I said. We entered the bus.
I saw my best friend, Brooke saving a seat for me. I grabbed the

seat. I sat the seat. I was smiling. All suddenly, I saw my bus

driver yelled and say “Truck!” We... as I banged my head,

everything went black. I woke up, saw the doctors watching me. I

was covered with special breathing machines. I saw my little sis,

Molly and my step- mother, Victoria sitting.
I looked the nurses and the interns were looking at me, as when I

was in a coma in few minutes.  I couldn’t move. Until my doctor

gave me a short shot. That shot is supposed to make me sleep.

                              Deaf.

And finally.. I was waked up a cry. I quickly heard the cry. It

was my mother, crying. I quickly listened the convention behind

the smooth, glassy window. I carefully listened though my

mother’s convention with my doctor, Dr. Sanders. It sounded like

this,
“Your daughter is possibly of 50% of death and other 50% of

deaf.” Said Mr. Sanders.
“No! How we can improve her weakness? How can I tell her that she

is some of mute, “deaf.” said my mother.
I gasped.
“Well.. You have to tell her. I will let you to be alone with

her, and also tell her about Brooke friend thingy.” Mr. Sanders

said very slowly. He left the room to be with other patient-

“Brooke.”
I pretended to sleep. My mother begins to shaking my shoulders. I

slowly opened my eyes, I pretended to be confused.
My mother said, “Buttercup, are u alight?.”
I couldn’t hear anything. I only could hear of a noise of person

mumbling. “I am okay.” I said hoarsely covered with many blankets

to keep me warm from the breeze in here, New York, Buffalo.
“I have something to tell you.” My mother said.
“Brooke is dead.” I said as I got pint of tears coming from my

eyes.
“No! Clean these tears with your apron. Brooke is not dead. She

is alive so very well. She is very lucky. I was going to tell

that..” My mother said.
I cleaned my tears as I sniffled bit. I looked at my mother

again.

“Brooke had a bang head injury.” My mother said.
“What it supposed to mean? Is she in a coma? Or what?” I said

hoarsely.
Victoria sighed.
“Brooke is going to rest now, and whatever. You will be freed in

here next month.” My mother said. I whimpered. I was very mad.

Because of everything had happened, the god made me to miss my

12th birthday. I whimpered again. It won’t to destroy my

birthday. I knew it. It will not going to destroy it! I can do

it. But it didn’t work. Deaf is… “Hey, Mother. What is a deaf?” I

said in a hoarsely. “A deaf person is a person who can’t hear and

learn sign language. I opened my mouth, leaving few drools.  I

passed out.
My mother was panicking, and running into my shoulders. I was in

a panicked moment I could remember, I already became deaf. I

didn’t realize that the injury had caused my ear to lose some

hearing. Before I passed out, I had an influence ear that is

trying to stay here, but it was “lost” into my ear. I had become

deaf.
Dr. Sanders had come inside my room and signed in sign language.

He knew to sign, because his most patients were deaf. I quickly

looked at his hands. It seem very strange to me. Singing. I

couldn’t understand anything. Not even speaking, hearing or

signing. I need to go a deaf school to learn sign language. I

need to go there. I stand up, straight, and I begin to sit the

chair behind the room.
“Dr. Sanders, is Sophia is stronger enough to go home, knowing it

was been five weeks.” My mother said. I was speechless. I asked

my mom, as I grabbed a notebook and begin to write. “What did my

doctor say?” I wrote. “He said, you will take a short test, and

then we are settled to go home!” My mother wrote.
“Well, I need to take a quick test, and then she is stronger

enough to go home.” Dr. Sanders. My doctor led me a different

room, it was an x-ray room. He ordered me to stand near the wall

that had a small closet stored of medience. He ordered me,

between his writing and “point” using his tiny fingernails, that

I suffered a horrible smell of my doctor’s breath. I coughed as I

was staring at the wall for a hour. It was very, very, very

boring. Finally, the flashing sound had begun, I looked the

alarm. It had a white, flashing alarm that informs that we are

finished doing a test. My doctor tooked his hands into my hands

and led me back to my room. Then he ordered me to fetch him a box

filled of my belongings.  I was violently given, too hard. One

woman gave me a box of my belongings. I grumped. I sat in the

waiting room as my mother went in the bathroom. I looked a

4thyears old, deaf, playing her ball. I smiled. I didn’t realize

that my nurse had called me over a hundred times. Then my nurse

walked down the stairs and then down to the hallway and grabbed

my hand and led me in a different room. I looked her ring; it was

almost like in my dreams.  I begin to touch her ring.

“Hey! HEY! Don’t touch my expensive ring!!!” The

grumpy nurse said.
I couldn’t understand anything. I only heard a pint of a very

loud lecture. My nurse tooked me in a different room, because the

room was assigned by a deaf person. She found the room across the

Dr. Sander’s room. Then she ordered me, in the writing. To stay

here and doodle.  Finally, an hour had ended. My doctor came in

with an intern. And a large notebook.  He begins to open his

notebook; and begin to writing. “Your test had come right fine

and you are strong enough to go home.” He wrote. I smiled as I

shake his clean hands. My mother was waiting with my sis, Molly.

I walked to them, grabbing my red velvet covered with words that

say “Aeropostale” in violent purple color, colored as a headband.

I looked my hands and my veins. They looked so very purplish. I

sighed. I went out the crazy building, and my mother led me in

our large limo. I sat near Molly at the back seat, and my mother

at the front seat, drinking her iced blend coffee. I watched a

show called “Victorious” in a subtitled language. There was a

silence moment.
Shopping.
My mother wrote in my sparkly notebook,  “Tomorrow morning, you

are sentenced in a private school called the Rochester School for

the Deaf. You will enter middle school, as a sixth grader. I did

agreement you into the dorm to get know around the mute- I mean,

the deaf kids.” “I’m going the dorm?” I wrote her. “Well, between

your dad traveling and having an affair with an 18 year old girl.

I think your dad is not able to take care of you during he begin

to seeing Nicole.” My mother wrote. “What up with a 30 years old

man having an affair with an 18 year old girl?” I wrote.  “I

don’t know.” My mother wrote. My limo driver began to giggle. I

looked his mouth, the drooling was very disgusting. My mother

yelled; shut up! I couldn’t hear anything expect a voice. But I

didn’t expect a voice that is different that’s complicated.
“Now, we need to go shopping for your school supplies. Your

backpack was destroyed in the crash, so we will buy you a new

backpack.” My mother wrote.
“Ok- Okie” I wrote.
We arrived at Target. The red round blends with

sparkly, bright red paint covered with special tissue. I looked

it; the man was cleaning the big “T” sign. I walked in the

corner; saw bright blue and dark blue backpack. I  looked the

price, $30.00.
“Hey mom, can I have the backpack?” I wrote in my notebook.
“Umm, sure.” She wrote.
‘Great!”
I looked the section of the notebooks; I looked the shelves of

school supplies. I picked it out according the list:
6th grade’s school supplies

4 notebooks
5 binders (one for English, one for math, etc.)
2 packets of pens and pencils
A backpack
You will be provided with a lock, so you don’t need to buy a one.
2 journals
A ruler
One case (stuffed with pencils, etc.)
One USB (for technical, and etc.)
5 glue sticks
2 erasers

I said, piece of cake, it’s easy to collect the supplies. Being

6th grade probulary could’ve not been bad at all. Molly and my

mom went to the food section. I collected the items that were in

the list. I ran to the food section, and saw Molly taking 6 pound

of milk. I hurried and helped her to carry the milk.
In the morning, I woke up, standing stood in my bedroom. And

looking the wall, it’s was completely blank. I keep staring it

until my alarm clock begins to ringing. Ding! Beep! Beep! Beep!

I looked the time, it was almost 7 a.m. I get up and get dressed.

I headed downstairs, when I was going to the door that led to the

outside to get my sneakers. I carried those sneakers.
In the kitchen, I smelled delicious pancakes, standing in the

dish. The smell was so very delicious, when I could take a bite

in the pancake, the delicious, and creamy inside the pancake will

pop and taste. The taste is softy, creamy, smooth. If pancakes

had been invented yet, I swears that if I did happen, I will

invented pancakes and call them “cakes” but it too late because

the name “cake” was reversed in what year? I don’t know.
Ugh, I must be boring you with all details. I sat in the kitchen

table, waiting for my baby. Finally, my pancakes had reached the

table. Ohh, I forgot the game, because Molly and I are in a

middle of the game called, “Grab the pancakes before your little

or big sister!”
When Molly gave me a wink, that is the signal that letting you

know that the game already started. I tried to pull my arm in the

dish, but it was too late. Mom tooked the last one for her

breakfast.
“Hey!” I said.
“What? I’m hungry?” Mom said, in a confused face.
“Good point, oh well I will make a cereal.” I said, looking all

sad. Mondays was Pancake Day for our tradition.  I get out from

my chair that was glued in the floor, heading the cabinet. The

bowls was organized in every size, color. I made myself a cereal,

I choose Trix, my favorite cereal.
Molly said, “Did you know that sea turtles are endangered

species?”
“What??” I said, slurping my milky cereal.
“I can’t believe that, so very sad for endangered animals. I’m

wondering if either you will be a volventer for this?”
Molly and I said, “No thanks.”
“Why?” Mom said.
“I just don’t want to.”  I said.
“Here, I have a surprise for you!” Mom said, all excited.
Mom headed out the room, then came back, carrying something.  It

was a blue box. I looked the box closely. I was suspicious.
“What is that?” I said, all suspicious.
“A box filled metal sticks?” Molly guessed. I groaned.
“That’s not the point!” I blurted.
Molly quieted, then later said, “That’s not nice thing to say!”

+ “Okay.. We only have a hour left for your school,” As she told

my name.
“Do you girls want to know what the surprise is for Sophia, only

Sophia?
“No fair, you always focus her!” Molly squealed, acting like a

big baby.
“Because she is disabled.” Mom tried to explain.
“Anyway, the present is a purple and black mixed... hearing

aids!” Mom squealed, jumping the floor. Plates broke in pieces.
“A hearing aids?” I said it in a confused look.
“Yes! A hearing aids!!” Mom squealed, as Molly looked at her like

Mom was a jackass.
“Put them in, please.” Mom said to me.
I stick my ears with that thingy, that looked like a soft, clay.

Molly stared it, like she had
Not seen a one before.
“Mom, just already get your purse, let’s go to school.” I said,

in an annoyed face.
“Okay!” Mom said.
We leave about 7:30 a.m. in the morning, the sky was raining.

Rain drizzles touched my forehead. I looked, as I put some

lipstick in my lip. Molly, Mom and I got in a SUV. The motor has

run out, out nowhere. We drive in my school first, because school

starts at 8:00 a.m.
When I first arrived school, I was bumped by a cute guy.
“Hey, calm down!” He signed in sign language.
“What did you say?” I spoke.
“My name is Matt Sean Dithers.” Matt said.
“But people called me Sean because I look like the deaf actor,

Sean Beardy.” Matt said.
“What? I don’t understand your hands.” I said.
Matt chuckles, and scolds his head and said; you’re funny, blonde

one.
It wasn’t a joke, I thought. I ignored that guy because I

couldn’t understand any words that he was saying. I entered the

school, the school was labeled; Rochester School for the Deaf. I

carried the bags that were really heavy, until one teacher walked

and helped me.
“Are you Sophia? If you are, I’m Mrs. Lemonhead!” she said in a

happy smile.
“Lemonhead?” I said, as I wondering that is real last name?
“Yes, Mrs. Lemonhead.” Said Mrs. Lemonhead.
“Wait, how did you know my name?” I said, wondering.
“I’m your consoler for your dorm!” Mrs. LemonHead.
“Ahh, I think that your last name doesn’t suits you right, mind I

call your first name?”
“Sure. The name is Maddie.” Maddie.
“Ahh, Maddie. Okay, Um,” I said as I was looking my class

schedule.
“Can you lead me to second floor, and number of class is 216?” I

said as I was peeking my class schedule.
“Sure! Anything for my favorite student!!” Maddie said.
I winked at her. Now she was friendly. And finally that I had a

friend who speaks and signs.
Maddie and I go to second floor and walked a left. There was it.

216. I looked all students, they’ve laughing and throwing papers.

A paper was targeting me, so I grabbed the paper into my hands,

so really awesome. Everyone was paying attention in me, not the

teacher.
“Whoa, you catch very good.” A blonde boy with braces said.
“Um, thanks.” I said, nervously.
“This is your newest student that will be joining us, her name is

Sophia. Please make her feel welcome!” Maddie said.
“Hi, I said as waving my hands.”
“Sup?” One girl said.
“Um, are you deaf?” I asked.
“Nope, I’m deaf and hearing both. What that name called?”
Teacher glares at the girl.
“You should know that pharse. You’re in sixth grade.” The teacher

said as he was writing the black board.
“Okay, so I will leave and let you get around.” Maddie said as

Maddie closed the door, leaving me alone.
“Oh well, Hello! My name is Mr. Steven. I will be your science

teacher. Please take a seat next Sean.” Mr. Steven said.
I glares at Sean.  Sean was smiling.
“Hi.” I spoke, actually sitting with him.
“Okay, we’re learning about chicks. We will get eggs soon, so you

will divide up a partner and work together and measure the mass,

etc.” Mr. Steven spoke and signed in sign language.
Sean glares me again. I smiled again.
A girl raise her hand and said, will we get to inductore

ourselves to Sophia?
“Ohh, I forgot that. That girl was raising her hand is Shirley

Smith. I see that you met Sean.” Mr. Steven said.
“And these are others- I don’t want to bore you with all

details.”
“So we will skip Mr. Steven.” Narrator said.
“Okay, now I was thinking about picking partners now. Ok, now I’m

assigning is Sophia and.. Sean,” Everybody stared at them. “You

and Sophie?” A boy said and bursting in laughing and can’t stop

with do that ‘rofl’.  “Sophia.” I said.
“Okay, that is enough! I assigned Sophia and Sean because I think

Sean could be a good influence at Sophia.” Mr. Steven said

angrily.
“But still!!” Boy said.
“Lunch Detention!” Mr. Steven bursted in madness.
I looked at him, he was quiet. He was focusing his work: Journal.
Sean finally spoke, “We will receive our chicken eggs tomorrow.

So we will study our egg, place them in a special place, that

your dad will pay, whatever.”
“Actually my father had an affair with other women.  So I guess

my mother could buy the eggs.” I said.
“Um, Ms. Madison and Mr.  Dithers, since you’re talking; why not

you share with everyone what you just said?” Mr. Steven.
“No, sir.” I said.
“Good.”
“Marlena, you’re with Bob. Shirley, you’re with Maddi.” Mr.

Steven said, as speeching and signing the same time.
“Now, take out of your journal and write one paragraph and write

about a person you admire. It could be family member or a friend.
” Mr. Steven said, smiling at me, and said, “You’re next to

speech your paragraph.”
Sean glares at me. I smiled back; I think Sean was going to write

about me. Sean has a crush on me. He always smiled at me.
I opened my journal and wrote:

April 24, 2o12
What the person I admire most is:
Molly: She’s sweet. She’s my sister. She loves to enter my

bedroom and look for my magnetizes, and likes to sleep with me

middle of night when she’s afraid or got a scary dream. She’s

eight. She starts fourth grade. She’s so smart that why she

skipped two grades. She was supposed to be in 2nd grade but moved

to fourth grade. Wow. She’s in pre-ablerga classes. She learned

how to bake a cake in kindergarten. She’s my adoptive sister. I

love her more than my adoptive family. Well, I don’t want to be

cruel but I do love her MOST not the entire.
THE END.
I’ll put part two soon.
